My 6-year-old’s Christmas Plan

I’m more than slightly in awe of my youngest. She is so organised – definitely more than I am and she makes lists and always has a plan! I not a ‘list’ person. I don’t (normally) plan. I like to wing it. I rely on my superior brain to remember things which is failing me frequently now. My little one on the other hand is a ‘list’ child. She has a plan for almost everything. Like this recent plan for Christmas. It’s even pictorial! She’s 6. She knows what she wants and is making sure she gets it. And yes, …

A day out at the London Wetlands Centre with Robinsons

We have had a busy half-term but every bit has been enjoyable. On Wednesday, we headed off to the London Wetlands Centre for a day out with Robinsons. We were quite excited about the day as we had never visited before in spite of it being not far from home. We were at the event to learn the importance of drinking water and their #EnjoyMoreWater campaign. Something that’s pretty lame (as Jadyn says – for everything). I mean, who doesn’t know the importance of drinking water. Yes, we all do. But do we do it? No – at least I …

Today is my Mum’s birthday and though I miss her everyday, days like this are always harder as she’s not here to celebrate with us. The children wanted to send her a present so this is what we did…   We’ve sent a little present Up to heaven today – To wish our Darling Grandma A very Happy Birthday! What kind of Camera is that?

The other day we were headed out to Dover. The sun was shining and it was too great a day to spend indoors. Why Dover? Why not? Anyway, that’s not really the purpose of this post. As we were leaving, I handed my little girl a use and throw camera. Now, that’s the purpose of this post. She took it from me and looked at it closely. The first thing she asked was  – ‘Where is the screen?’ ‘What Screen?’ I asked, knowing full well what she was missing. ‘You know the one which shows you what you are taking …

I passed the Mummy Test

At times I feel a lot like Elsa, from Disney’s Frozen. Conceal – Don’t Feel. Being a mum is hard work. I love being a mum – well most of the time anyway. There are times when I don’t like being a mum and despair at the role like when I have a moody 9 year old, a bored 5 year old who says I don’t want to to every suggestion I make and a 3 year old having a meltdown – all at the same time. Even if it’s done separately it can quite cause me to tear my …

Who will ‘Love’ my children?

My daughter 9 loves school but come 3.15 and she is ready to come home. My son 5, probably does not like school as much as his sister and is perhaps ready to come home at 12. 🙂 So, do I agree with the proposals of Paul Kirby and Mr Gove, to have extended school hours from 8.30 – 6.00? No, definitely not! I am a stay at home Mum by choice. I like being there for my children. I like doing the school run with them. I Love to see their smiling faces when I go to pick them …
