Jacintaz3 in San Francisco

I’ve always wanted to visit San Franscico – yes I know there are many places I’ve always wanted to visit. But San Francisco has been one at the top of my list (Bucket list, that is!) Having relocated to Southern California, this was a dream that became a reality.

And to top it all off – this was a road trip.

We set off pretty early in the morning hoping to miss the traffic and to a large extent we did just that. Left at 5 am and arrived San Francisco around 1 pm. Just in time to check into our hotel.

Hyatt Place was our hotel of choice because it offered the best deal at that time, it catered to our needs of being in one room/suite and it was well located too (close to restaurants and not far from Berkeley) Jadyn wanted to visit there as that is one of the colleges on her list.

We did have a list of places we wanted to cover during our short stay and we managed to cover most of it inspite of having the Covid-19 spectre looming large. We practised social distancing all the time and had our masks on all the time.

On the first day we didn’t waste time and headed straight to Lombardy Street – a twisty road with just enough space for one car – yes, it’s a one way street!

We didn’t get out of the car as we had so much to do so I don’t have a full street view but here goes –

Then it was on to the famous Fisherman’s Wharf and Pier 39. You can smell the fish, as soon as you get there! But it was lovely and we ended the evening by having a socially distanced meal at Fog Harbor. Seafood – my weakness!

The next day, we headed off to the one and only Golden Gate Bridge. It was stunning! And we ended up going across it 3 times because we took a wrong turn – which was great. Not so great was the fact that we were charged the toll thrice.

Then it was off to Berkeley and back to the hotel for dinner.

We also managed to squeeze in Ghiardelli Square and a visit to China Town.

A very short trip to San Francisco, it was overall, but enjoyable all the same. We SO need to go back to visit so we can cover all the places we had on our list. Keep an eye out for stories from our return journey as we stopped in so many beautiful places.
