Our Modern Family Challenge with Fox

We love challenges and this one was one we could not refuse. A chance to win a mini break at Centreparcs as well as a Modern Family box set is a prize indeed!! Now obviously, when you see our video, you will see that we are far from the professional Modern Family. But just as obvious, is that with training (lots of it) and acting classes and make up and sets, we could well have our own mini series too! We hit a lot of techy problems along the way with the videos not being compatible and having no upload …

British Barbecue with John Lewis

When I received an opportunity to take part in a challenge to prepare a British meal on the Barbecue, with John Lewis and Waitrose, I jumped at it. It was a bit difficult to decide what to prepare as the children wanted sausages and we wanted steak. We also all love spare ribs. I picked up the spare ribs, sausages and the steak from Waitrose and as usual the products were excellent. I used my Tefal OptiGrill to prepare these dishes as this gives a lovely barbecue quality to the meat without any sweat of standing near the coals of …

Retail Royalty Challenge with MoneySuperMarket

When I received the Retail Royalty Challenge to support my local Charity by MoneySuperMarket, I knew I had to enter. I also had in mind which charity I would be supporting.   There was no doubt in my mind that I would support The Lullaby Trust. For those who don’t know, the Lullaby Trust, previously FSID, provides support for bereaved families and expert advice to prevent SIDS. However, according to the rules of the challenge, I could not really support the Lullaby Trust as they really do not require groceries/blankets etc. What they require are funds to support their ongoing …

Meals made simple with Shwartz 2in1

We have home cooked meals cooked from scratch most of the time, although I admit with 3 children,we sometimes take the easy way out and resort to frozen chips and nuggets and fish fingers, not to forget pizza. Especially now with summer in full swing, the last thing one wants to do is stand by the hob cooking up a meal that takes ages. I do try out a few bottle sauces because my children, like most, especially love pasta. So, when there was an opportunity to try out the new Schwartz 2in1range, I signed up. I received 2 packets …

Our Big Night In with Moneysupermarket

Moneysupermarket threw open a challenge to bloggers – to spend £50 on a night in with friends/family and show that one can have fun without breaking the bank. When I signed up to the Big Night In challenge with Moneysupermarket, I was not sure how to spend it. £50 can be a lot and it can also be a little depending on what one decides to do. I knew I wanted to do something with the family and also have some time as a couple with my husband. Going to a birthday party last Sunday gave me the perfect idea. …

Italian Wedding Soup – Hungry 2 Happy Challenge

This post is an entry for BritMums’ Hungry to Happy Challenge sponsored by Richmond Mini Meatballs     BritMums asked bloggers to take on the challenge of preparing something quick with meatballs for the children to go from hungry to happy in minutes. I also needed something that would keep them happy for sometime so I could carry on with blogging, undisturbed!! So I decided to make an Italian Wedding Soup. It is actually called ‘minestra maritata’ or’ married soup’ because of the meatballs and the greens going well together. Shell pasta is traditionally used and you can use any …
