To My Darling Jade on Your 10th Birthday

My Darling Girl,

10 today – the first of the double figures and that’s the way it’s going to be for the next 89 years.

I can’t believe how you’ve grown. It seems only yesterday that I held you in my arms for the first time. My first born. The little girl I dreamed of having.

You have brought so much happiness in my life and the lives of everyone around you.

You grow more beautiful everyday and of course you will soon be towering over me.

I am so proud of all your achievements.

Although I may seem (a bit) pushy at times, it’s only because I want the very best for you.

10 years from being a little baby in arms to the lovely young lady you are. A little spoilt. A little bit of Drama Queen. A LOT of being a kind, caring, intelligent, gorgeous little girl.

I know we are going to be the best of friends and we will also have many disagreements. We are too alike for there not to be.

But through it all, know one thing, that no matter where you are, I will be just a phone call away.

I love you from the earth to the sky and back again and all round the world and back again.
