I may be a stay-at-home mum but I’ll share a little secret with you. I hate housework. It seems to take forever.
Take the laundry – I’ve barely put a load in when the basket of dirty clothes seems to magically fill up.
Or the carpet – I’ve just hoovered up to turn around and discover crisp fragments and biscuit crumbs on it.
Or the patio doors – The glass was pristine when I last looked at it just after a wipe down but I can see finger marks all over it.
And then there’s the washing up and the dusting and the plumping of cushions and the beds to be made…
I despair at times because I know I just can’t keep up. So….I sometimes leave the smudge marks on the doors and a few biscuit crumbs on the floor!!
I was recently asked to write about how long it takes me to clean the house and my first instinct is to go with forever. Honestly, if I’m looking at a pristine house – that’s how long it would take.
For a presentable home though it would probably take me about 3 hours to have the house in ship shape. That’s not taking into account laundry etc. It does take time though and I marvel at those people who have an immaculate home – all the time!
If you come to my house, whatever you do – don’t open the cupboard under the stairs!! (Just kidding!)
Karcher has been involved in supporting the preservation of historical monuments for the last 30 years. I was asked how long I thought it took them to clean Mt. Rushmore and I estimated about a month. Yay! I was right. 🙂
There is also a fun quiz where you need to guess your knowledge of the Monuments of the world – https://www.kaercher.com/uk/inside-kaercher/sponsoring/cultural-sponsorship.html
Do let me know what your score is if you take it. No, I’m not telling you mine!! First you! 🙂
Right though, I’m off to get cleaning. Enough slacking.
