Peppa Pig is a big hit in our home. We watch her on telly all the time – I mean, ALL THE TIME! We have a lot of Peppa Pig toys including a gigantic Peppa and of course the Peppe Pig Weebles Car. I’m sure you can imagine the excitement when this arrived home – A Peppa Pig Muddy Puddles Deluxe Playhouse. It does sound rather exciting doesn’t it? And it is! The Peppa Pig Muddy Puddles Deluxe Playhouse is a lovely replica of Peppa Pig’s house from the television series. It is yellow with a red rooftop. It opens …

Leap Reader Reading and Writing System from Leap Frog :A Review

by

I love toys that teach and help the learning process. Luckily together with all the toys that entertain, I also receive learning toys for the children. One such toy I received was the Leap Reader from Leap Frog. I had my eye on this one for sometime so I was really pleased to be sent one. My nieces had an older version of the LeapFrog Leapreader and I was pretty intrigued by what it could do. Of course the newer version does so much more. This simple ‘pen’ is capable of keeping a child entertained for long periods. It ‘reads’ …

My friend Cayla – taking pretend play to a whole new dimension

by

I had seen Cayla when I visited the Vivid Toy Group stand at the Toy Fair in London and I knew that she would be one of the top toys this year. Jadyn is 9 and is between wanting make up and yet not ready to give up her dolls. Like most – well all I think – she is caught up in the digital phenomenon and loves the iPad and all the other gadgets. Cayla is ideal because she is a combination of both – technology and dolls. I was lucky to be invited to an exclusive event where …

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Toys from Flair: Review

by

The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles have been around since 1984 and it is great to know that some toys and chanracters have withstood the test of time. I remember my brother talking about them so it seems like deja vu when I find my son playing with these toys. Needless to say I was quite happy when we were sent a collection of TMNT toys from Flair to review.  It was also especially nice as Ethan had been rather unwell and this perked him up a great deal. We were sent – A Turtles Practice Pal – A 16″ Plush …

Kidipet – The Virtual Pet for your Child

by

Every so often there is a toy that we get to review that intrigues me more than it probably does the children. The Kidipet is one of them. We had seen advertisements of telly and it looked like fun. On receiving it, it was even more fun to play with. Kidipet is brought to you by VTech and everyone knows that VTech is synonymous with a wonderful range of children’s interactive and learning toys. The Kidipet is one such toy. Kidipet gives a child the responsibility of owning a virtual pet  – feeding it, taking it for a walk, cleaning …

Review: Scribble and Write from Leap Frog

by

Leap Frog is a name that I associate with toys that provide learning through playing. I know that the toys are durable and are sturdy for children to play with and I have no hesitation in getting the children toys from Leap Frog. Although I do not believe in forcing children to write at a very early age, I believe that there is nothing wrong in teaching children to hold a pencil correctly and it begin doodling without stressing them to write letters and numbers. The Leap Frog Scribble and Write is perfect for this and when I was sent …

Review: Rocking Alligator from Plan Toys

by

Is it a rocking horse? Is it an alligator? No, it’s a rocking alligator. This lovely little rocking alligator from Plan Toys is ideal for little ones. Made from good quality wood, it is something that will keep little ones entertained for days on end. The set up – It was easy to set up and just needs one person to do it. The instructions are clear and it took about 20 minutes to get it up and rocking. While I was doing so, I had an opportunity to look at it up close and personal and found it to be …
